UPDATES ON JDCARTSTUDIOGIFTS ACTIVITIES

I have not been actively blogging for a long time due to many difficulties with time management.  I plan to for this year not follow any particular structure, but write as  I feel inclined, thus lessening the pressure and anxiety and be more spontaneous.  For example last night I sat in on a session of critiquing and demonstration of an artist  Jory Mason.  The title of the meeting was: Jory Mason's Demo and Critique.  

As a member of the Needham Art Association I had the privilege of submitting 2 paintings, above for critiquing.  I am so glad I participated.  I was always afraid of having a critiquing of my work, but I am discovering that it is very rewarding indeed! It is an opportunity to observe other artists work, as we did with observing Ms. Mason's demo of her preparation and execution of her painting. Her critiquing of all the paintings was also very objective, and I really appreciate her honesty and giving the artists an opportunity to comment.  Overall it was a very rewarding evening.  I also found the exercise very motivating.  I hope I have finally gotten over my fear of art critiquing.  I have certainly benefitted from this experience.
